This is the sixth and final event of Altered LARP's third season!
This will be a full weekend event, please pack lots of warm dry clothing to get you through as you'll likely be sweating during the day and nights will likely be cold! We will have safety gear and extra clothing in case of emergency.
Log opens at 1900 (7pm) and we aim to start game at 2300 (11pm), though you are free to arrive early and set up camp as early as noon.
The cost to attend the event is $55, if you prelog in advance.

OOG INFORMATION:
This is Altereds Masquerade for 2024!
This year we will be renting Coin8, a luxurious studio that will present us with an excellent opportunity for socializing, dancing, gaming and taking part in photoshoots should you desire! The event will take place on the 17th, starting at 6pm.
The cost to attend the Masquerade is 50 dollars, and we will additionally be offering photoshoots through the Bemmas! We will have a studio room specifically set aside for this purpose, and the cost per shoot is 10 dollars!
Additionally, we ask that you bring some sort of food to contribute to a potluck! Though we ask that OOG ingredient lists accompany any dish, we encourage you to have some fun with making otherworldly delights! For example, some in the past have treated us to Hellcat Jerky, and of course Mr. Touchy Face’s Jellied Soul Surprise.
Finally, there is going to be a bar at the event, that will be managed by the location ownership! Join us in a libation or two as we make merry amidst the cold!
We’re also looking forward to hopefully running a talent show and having board games available to give us all something to add to the socialisation. If you’re interested in joining the talent show, please keep an eye out for the post, and if you’re interested in bringing games feel free to do so to add to the pile we’ll be creating!

IG INFORMATION:
This is an in-character event (though we will have sectioned off areas to be out of game) and you can expect some general light plot/lore contributions, along with 2 AP for your attending character.
The Masquerade is a function of the reality-warping nature of the flux. It is represented by a dreamlike state that is similar yet a departure from reality- as such your character’s consciousness will be transported here by some means that we will graciously leave unexplained. As a result your costuming should reflect your character’s ideal of how they would look in a fancy setting.
Given the above, you will not need item tags or physreps of any kind. Larp-safe weapons are permitted as decorations, but you may not use them to engage in any boffer combat.
Fear not, those of you who have characters in limbo- those awaiting resurrection can attend the Masquerade, in fact those requiring death scenes will be able to have their…. meeting, such that they can enter game all the more quickly come next year.

The artifact glistens. It sits imperiously, almost as if supervising the fevered pitch of activity. Bustling figures cast a wide berth around it. Reverence perhaps? Fear? Their work continues unabated. The fires churn merrily and illuminate the surgical and arcane ministrations, casting flickering shadows amidst the din. Heavily scarred creatures move hither and thither between rows of operating tables, cursing as they go about their malevolent work. "Victory is at hand."

The artifact glistens. Its ominous shape pulses with energy, sitting safely in an ornate box. A throng of hooded figures surround it reverentially. A series of chants almost soundlessly leave their lips. The pulsing crescendos and quickens, developing into a thrumming sound that shakes the ground and the figures around it, and the object rises gently into the air. Suddenly, as if by the cutting of a string, it collapses back into position. "It's ready."

The artifact glistens. It spins around in the hand of the creature holding it, who smiles toothily. It disappears from view into a pocket on the ornate robe and the hand is quickly furnished with a brimming cup of wine. The other hand casts a wide arc, displaying a myriad of strange items along with a preponderance of small effigies. "Shall we let the bidding commence?"

The sheep grazed merrily, placidly content. Its thick coat shone merrily, tufts of fur bouncing as a gentle breeze played over it.
It clamped yellow teeth on a calcified protuberance issuing forth from the mass, grinding happily at the marrow inside.
As it fed, horrified faces nearby watched on in horror. Faces marked with fins and barnacles, their bodies draped in deep teals and blues.
They watched as the sheep stood in heaping piles of flesh, putrefied and stinking- rotten beyond measure despite the god's recent death.
The sheep reared back its head, ripping a tendon out of the corpulent pile, the snap of the rotted flesh spattering wool with black blood intermingled with globs of green pus. It turned to the amassed cultists and smiled.

Humming softly to himself, a tall, gaunt figure picked his way through the soggy field, slick mud inundated with blood squelching up against the tall riding boots that bore his unusual gait.
He weaved back and forth in a strange staccato, stepping over the vast field of bodies, clad in various states of ruined armour and furs.
He stopped sharply and bent at the waist, legs remaining rigid as he peered out from underneath a shock of brilliantly white hair ensconced in a loose black hood.
He prodded delicately at the object of his attention, a large, weighty axe still clutched in the hand of a fallen soldier, glittering frost encrusting the area around the haft where the hands had curled in rigor.
The figure drew back both of his sleeves with unsettlingly long fingers that possessed far too many joints. He began an intricate series of movements across the cold skin of the fallen warrior, prodding gently and sending almost imperceptible flashes of pale light into the flesh as he did so.
Abruptly, he straightened out and brought his hands together with glee. Cascades of knuckle joints wove together and tensed, almost as if with a mirth of their own.
Underneath the hood a smile split open the sepulchral visage, a smile brimming with thin sharp teeth.... far too many of them.

Taryn tugged at the canister of her gas mask, then rolled the ends of her gloves up over her sleeves. She felt the flannel pressed tight to her wrists- a familiar, comforting pressure that was part of her ritual before going outside the charged fence of the compound.
Henrietta stood idly by one of the gates, their face shrouded behind a new full-face gas mask, a rare prize retrieved from the rear half of an asbestos removal company's van that had fallen through to the flux. The work crew hadn't fared as well as their gear though, immediately exsanguinated by something that was as of yet unidentified.
Their greeting was muffled as Taryn approached. "Hey. Make sure you grabbed enough AP rounds, a lot of the smaller critters have been killed off and the bigger stuff is starting to starve and get desperate. Apparently a blink dog attacked near an active beacon."
"Yeah I heard. Definitely desperate to be going through that kind of pain.... Anyways, what are we doing out there?"
"One-One Delta didn't make it back. We're going to go find what did it."
Taryn nodded and tapped her comms unit absentmindedly, as if patting it would encourage appropriate behavior in the field. "Lots of factions patrolling out there beyond the big critters... are we looking for bodies or prisoners?"
Henritta slung their rifle over their shoulder and tucked their hands into pockets. "Not much difference between the two these days."
Silence swam in the air around the two as they stared at one another. Taryn broke it by whispering a quick command into her radio. The gates swung heavily open and they trudged wordlessly towards their post.

Jared’s stomach growled furiously as he stared into the canteen cup, which all too recently had contained a slurry of what he was assured were several edible roots and an assortment of ‘herbs’ which looked suspiciously like grass clippings.
Even having scraped it clean and licked every last morsel from his battered spoon, his stomach growled in protest. He scanned the camp wearily, seeing gaunt faces. Stores had depleted far too rapidly following the freeze. New food sources hadn’t had time to grow, and with…. Whatever had happened to the dreg dogs, supply lines were being hit with new fervour as they scrambled to replenish stores that had been absorbed by the void.
A few of the scavenging parties hadn’t yet returned. One had been sent out with children. A desperate last resort that the nomads rarely stooped to. Jared involuntarily shuddered at the thought of what might have befallen them… or was it the twinging hunger?
Breaking his reverie was an inhuman scream from deep in the forest. A wailing howl terminating echoing through the trees. In past times, cries like that meant the drawing of hatches, the baring of torches, a whispered hush as all would strain to hear the creature’s gait and point sharp implements accordingly.
Instead, He drew his hatchet from the patchwork toolbelt at his hip, staring at the blade intently before striding slowly across the camp to a gathering party. Hunger coursed through his body like steaming oil, searing a path and leaving only desperation in its wake.

This is the second event of Altered LARP's first season!
This will be a full weekend event, please pack lots of dry clothing to get you through. We will have safety gear and extra clothing in case of emergency.
We plan to call game on at 2300 (11PM), and aim to open log no later than 2000 (8PM), though you are free to arrive early and set up camp in advance.
The cost to attend the event is $55, if you prelog in advance. Otherwise you may register at the site on the day of for $60. (Prelog will be opened closer to the event date on our website, linked below)
Please remember that we expect the following from players as our community standards:
* 18+ Player Base
* LGBTQ+ positive and welcoming
* No discrimination on out of game characteristics of our players (race, creed, gender, diagnoses, etc.)
* Explicit consent for all physical roleplay
* No plot or roleplay involving sexual assault, non-consent, or out of game discrimination
* Self-Care capable

A wail pierces the stillness, heralding the cracking of ice. A bipedal figure lurches forward, one of its legs trailing rivulets of thick syrupy blood from a boot still stuck in the ice. It looses an ethereal howl before wrenching its other foot free and finally resuming its implacable advance.
